Groo: Friends and Foes #12
The twelfth and final issue of Groo: Friends and Foes spotlights Kayli — the wide-eyed blonde girl clutching a sack in the foreground — while Groo himself charges sword-in-hand through a wonderfully chaotic crowd of knights, jesters, noblewomen, and assorted medieval riff-raff behind her, with even his trusty dog Rufferto trotting along nearby. Sergio Aragonés packs every inch of this 2016 Dark Horse cover with his signature wall-to-wall background gags and expressive character work, colored with Tom Luth's warm, sunny palette. It's a fitting, fun send-off to a series that reveled in the full, gloriously overcrowded world surrounding everyone's favorite wandering swordsman.
