Groo: Friends and Foes #10
The tenth issue of Groo: Friends and Foes spotlights "Taranto" — and Sergio Aragonés's cover makes a memorable case for the featured foe, showing the grinning, wide-eyed Groo front and center, curved blades in hand, his loyal dog Rufferto at his side, while an absolutely packed crowd of warriors, barbarians, and assorted ruffians surges behind them in every direction. The sheer density of characters is a delight, every face in that mob sporting its own exaggerated expression — Aragonés clearly relishing the chance to fill every inch of the composition. With colors by Tom Luth bringing warmth and energy to the chaos, this 2015 Dark Horse entry is a fine showcase of the series' signature blend of slapstick spectacle and affectionate world-building.
