Grindhouse: Doors Open at Midnight #6
Dark Horse's gloriously pulpy Grindhouse: Doors Open at Midnight continues with issue #6, delivering the second half of "Bride of Blood" from writer Alex de Campi and artist Federica Manfredi. Dan Panosian's striking cover splits a dark-haired woman literally down the middle — one half draped in soft fabric, the other encased in brutal mechanical armor — set against richly textured panels of gold and jewel tones, with vivid blood-red splashes framing the composition. It's a genuinely arresting visual that captures the series' knack for pairing fine-art sensibility with grindhouse menace, and the tagline "You Can Never Unsee This Comic!" feels entirely earned.
