“Prelude”

In "Prelude," the siege of Tallus reaches its breaking point as Blake and Bolder lead the King's forces in a desperate defense against Orcus's advancing army. With Druanna weakening and Sela struggling to master her powers, their unlikely alliance unleashes a surge of water that overwhelms the orcish horde. But as the tide turns, Orcus transforms his fallen comrade Gruel into a dragon, setting the stage for a final, monstrous assault. Written by Joe Brusha and James Patrick, with art by Carlos Granda and colors by Studio Cirque, this issue's haunting cover by Romano Molenaar captures the storm brewing within the city walls.

As the siege of Tallus begins, Blake and Bolder help the King's army defend the city against the army of Orcus. Meanwhile, Druanna is almost completely drained of power and Sela is unable to control her power. But working together, Druanna is able to control Sela's power which sends a torrent of water that drowns the orc army outside the city gates. With the enemy defenses depleted by his army's attack, Orcus performs a last transformation of his friend, Gruel, who turns into a dragon and attacks the city.
