Grifter #7
Three armed figures make an immediate impression on Broome and Hubbs's cover for this 1997 Image title: a battle-scarred Grifter grips a pistol on the right, a masked woman in a wide-brimmed hat stands sentinel behind him, and a teal-haired woman crouches in the foreground with her own weapon at the ready. The trio is framed within a circular composition set against a warm amber glow, giving the whole scene a tense, conspiratorial energy that suits a book about a man who lives by his wits and his aim. Steven Grant's run on Grifter was delivering sharp, street-level action at this point in the series, and issue #7 looks every bit the part.
