Part of DC's New 52 initiative, Grifter #6 arrives in April 2012 with a cover that puts the masked vigilante in genuine peril — bound tightly in straps, his red bandanna in place, while a massive, glowing-eyed demonic creature looms over him from behind. The tagline "Call Forth the Black Curate!" teases a threat that feels far bigger than one man restrained can easily handle. Scott Clark's pencils and Dave Beaty's inks give the composition real menace, with crackling energy and cracked, alien flesh filling every corner of the frame.
