Part of DC's New 52 zero-issue initiative in 2012, this entry into Grifter goes back to basics with a cover by Rob Liefeld that puts Cole Cash front and center — red mask firmly in place, blonde hair wild, guns blazing as he bursts through the page in a shower of torn paper and muzzle flash. The greyed-out background panels hint at a larger story unfolding around him, making this feel like a proper origin deep-dive befitting its "Deprogrammed" title. With Frank Tieri and Liefeld on writing duties and Scott Clark and Dave Beaty handling interior art, this is a confident, action-forward spotlight on one of the DCU's most trigger-happy operatives.
