The medieval-meets-sci-fi mashup of Green Valley reaches its ninth issue with a cover that lays the series' fascinating tension bare: a futuristic HUD interface displays a "Divergent Chronology: Error Log 001," with four character profiles — Bertwald, Ralphus, Gulliver, and Indrid — catalogued like system subjects, while a central screen blazes with a fiery, explosive image of a spear cutting through a dramatic inferno. That blinking "Warning: Memory Low" alert in the corner adds an unsettling urgency to the whole display. The creative team of Landis, Camuncoli, Rathburn, and Beaulieu continue to make this one of Image/Skybound's more intriguing 2017 offerings, blending knight-era characters with the cold logic of a failing computer system.
