Green Lantern Corps #4
Part of DC's 2012 New 52 initiative, Green Lantern Corps #4 arrives with a cover by Andy Kubert that crackles with intensity — a Green Lantern wielding a glowing emerald blade is forced back under a crushing assault, while a second Corps member, ensnared by tendrils of green energy, struggles nearby, all against a wall of armored enemies looming in the moonlit background. The bold "WAR CRIMES!" caption and the story title "Prisoners of War" make it clear that Peter J. Tomasi, Fernando Pasarin, and Scott Hanna are putting the Corps through something far grimmer than a standard patrol. It's a tense, well-crafted chapter in the New 52's reinvention of the Green Lantern universe.
