Part of DC's New 52 initiative, this May 2014 issue of Green Lantern opens with a striking cover question: "Abandon All Hope?" Penciled and inked by Billy Tan, the image centers on a large-horned, pale alien figure crouched in distress amid a lush jungle teeming with colorful birds, small creatures, and a frog — while a Green Lantern watches warily from the background. With Robert Venditti writing and Billy Tan and Martin Coccolo sharing interior art duties, "Shipping Out" promises a thoughtful, emotionally charged chapter in Hal Jordan's ongoing tenure as leader of the Corps.
