Green Lantern #2
Part of DC's 2023 Dawn of DC initiative, Green Lantern #2 drops Hal Jordan into an unsettling situation — his ring projecting a glowing construct of Earth stamped with the ominous words "Planet Earth: Quarantined." Sharing the scene is a large pink alien figure in the background, casually holding what appears to be a Green Lantern emblem disc, giving the whole image a wonderfully off-kilter domestic tension. Xermanico's cover art, colored by Romulo Fajardo Jr., balances cosmic stakes with an almost sardonic calm that makes this issue an intriguing read, and that's before you even get to the bonus John Stewart: Homecoming backup story.
