This 1946 Harvey publication puts the Green Hornet right in the thick of a dockside showdown — Al Avison's cover depicts the masked hero riding atop a airborne automobile as it launches off the Red River Drawbridge, while a gang of armed criminals scrambles below on a boat laden with what appears to be stolen loot. The raised drawbridge, the city skyline beyond the water, and the chaos of crooks caught mid-escape all combine to make this one of the more kinetic covers of the year. At ten cents, it's a vivid snapshot of mid-1940s pulp-hero action at its most visually energetic.
