Green Arrow #56
The arc title "Afraid of the Light" looms over a tense cover by James Jean, where a sinister, pale-faced villain in a dark cowl bears down on a red-clad woman and a struggling Green Arrow — the threat radiating outward in sharp, radiating lines that give the whole image a queasy, electric energy. Judd Winick's script, rendered inside by Ron Garney and Bill Reinhold, carries the momentum of "Heading Into the Light" into its third chapter. It's a striking 2006 package that shows DC's flagship archer firmly in the thick of danger.
