Green Arrow #43
This December 2004 issue of Green Arrow delivers one of the more unsettling covers of its era — a massive red-gloved hand cradles an unconscious young woman in a pink-and-white striped top, her long auburn hair falling limp, a syringe dangling from her fingers. The stark blue background and the blunt tagline "In 12 Hours, This Girl Will Die!" make the stakes feel immediate and visceral, thanks to Marcos Martín's clean, precise linework. Part four of "New Blood," with Judd Winick writing and Phil Hester and Ande Parks on interiors, promises a tense race-against-the-clock chapter in this fan-favorite run.
