Written by Brad Meltzer and illustrated by Phil Hester, with inks by Ande Parks and colors by James Sinclair, the issue’s cover by Matt Wagner captures the eerie tone of the mystery unfolding.

Shade and Green Arrow explain to Arsenal that Ollie had a deal that the shadowy villain would clean up Ollie's life and destroy all links to his secret identity in case of his death (thus, Cat-Man was hired to be at Ollie's funeral). Shade admits to not being able to find the Arrow Cave, so Green Arrow and Arsenal race off to check out their old haunt. They find the secret base in shambles, complete with resident Solomon Grundy.
