Part of DC's 2011 Brightest Day crossover, this installment finds Green Arrow — bow drawn and arrow nocked — standing his ground alongside a sword-wielding warrior companion against a massive, glowering tree-creature whose bark-textured body dominates the cover. A glowing White Lantern symbol pulses between the two fighters, hinting at the cosmic stakes running through the story arc. Rodolfo Migliari's painted cover work gives the whole scene a rich, atmospheric intensity that makes "The Valley of the Shadow of Death" feel like exactly the kind of showdown the title suggests.
