Peter Milligan's noir-soaked reimagining of Greek mythology continues in this December 2009 Vertigo issue, "Blood Calls for Blood Part Four: The Monster and the Labyrinth." Mark Simpson's cover is genuinely unsettling — a close-up of a dark-haired woman's face, streaked with white drips as though cracked open, with classical stone sculptures looming in shadow behind her and a small, prone figure cradled at her chest. The fractured, monochromatic imagery sets the tone perfectly for Milligan and Davide Gianfelice's contemporary collision of ancient myth and modern grime.
