Greek Street #16
Peter Milligan and Davide Gianfelice's gritty Vertigo series bows out with this final issue, and Davide Furnò's cover sends it off in style — a hooded, masked figure grips a gun at center while scattered snapshots surrounding them hint at the full cast: a tense confrontation between two men, an intimate embrace, a snarling monstrous face, and a bloodied woman below. The collage-style composition, framed by Greek key borders and silhouetted crowd figures, captures the series' knack for weaving classical myth into the seedy streets of modern London. "Medea's Luck, Part Two: Deus" promises a fittingly charged conclusion to one of 2010's more ambitious Vertigo offerings.
