Gotham Academy #7

Gotham Academy's warm, character-driven tone shines right through on this Becky Cloonan cover, where a grinning kid hangs cheerfully off the shoulders of a distinctly unamused Damian Wayne, his Gotham Academy uniform doing little to hide his brooding nature. The playful dynamic between the two — pure delight versus barely-contained irritation — says everything about what kind of story "Curse of the Inishtree Quill" promises to be. With Cloonan and Brenden Fletcher writing and Mingjue Helen Chen bringing her expressive art to the interior, issue #7 looks like a genuinely fun chapter in this beloved 2015 series.
