Gotham Academy #6

From the halls of Gotham Academy, this May 2015 issue puts a white-haired student front and center — in her school uniform, clutching what appears to be a book or journal, and casting a wary glance over her shoulder at a collapsed Batman slumped in the foreground. The cover tagline "The Dark Knight… Defeated?" sets a genuinely intriguing tone, and Karl Kerschl's clean, animated linework gives the scene a wonderful tension between the gothic school setting and the sight of Gotham's greatest protector brought low. Written by Becky Cloonan and Brenden Fletcher, this issue of the celebrated young-adult series promises the kind of mystery and charm that made Gotham Academy such a fresh addition to the New 52 lineup.
