“Gorgo Captured”

In "Gorgo Captured," the legendary prehistoric creature is targeted by a zoologist eager to display him at the Bronx Zoo after the film's success. With help from a small team, the zoologist tracks Gorgo down, overcomes Russian spies trying to steal him, and finally secures him—only for Gorgo’s mother to arrive moments later, ready to reclaim her son. Written by Joe Gill and brought to life with striking, dynamic art by Steve Ditko (pencils and inks), this 1963 Charlton issue captures the thrill of the chase and the emotional stakes of a mother’s desperate rescue. The cover by Steve Ditko perfectly encapsulates the tension of the moment.
