“Ms. Lonelyhearts”

In "Ms. Lonelyhearts," writer-artist Carol Lay introduces Irene Van De Kamp, a woman raised by the Bongodians after her parents' death, whose unique duck-faced appearance makes her an outcast in every world she enters. After being recognized by white traders as the lost heiress, she struggles to find her place—until she meets Kurt, a blind man who sees beyond her face, only to flee when he touches her. A quietly haunting story of isolation and connection, drawn with intimate precision by Carol Lay, whose full creative hand shapes both the interior art and the cover.
