Golden Kamui #13

Volume 13 of Satoru Noda's Golden Kamui puts one of the series' most imposing figures front and center: a broad-shouldered man in a crisp white military uniform, white eye patch, and thick mustache, gripping a gleaming gold-and-black automatic weapon as spent brass casings fly around him against a blood-red background. The gold detailing on the firearm echoes the series' recurring motif of deadly ambition, and the delicate white flowers at the bottom left add an unsettling contrast to the scene's raw menace. Published by Ki-oon Seinen in 2018, this volume makes clear that Noda's violent, gorgeously rendered saga shows absolutely no sign of letting up.
