Golden Kamui #11

Volume 11 of Satoru Noda's Golden Kamui puts a striking young Ainu archer front and center — blue-eyed, dark-haired beneath an ornately patterned headband, she lunges forward with a drawn bow, arrows fanned around her and traditional Ainu textile motifs decorating her armguard and clothing. The wintry, pale backdrop and the glimpse of elaborate red-and-gold quiver at her side give the cover a beautiful tension between delicate craftsmanship and raw, coiled energy. Published by Ki-oon Seinen in 2018, this volume is a fine showcase for the series' distinctive blend of Hokkaido wilderness atmosphere and richly detailed cultural imagery.
