# Going Steady #6 (July-August 1960) This issue features an untitled story in which Sylvia, a girl visiting town, becomes the object of gossip when she and a boy named Bart are seen together frequently. After news spreads that Bart will be taking Sylvia to the prom, Midge and other girls become jealous and decide to spy on them. When Midge spots Sylvia and Bart driving together, she attempts to follow them but crashes into a tree, resulting in an accident. The story explores themes of jealousy and rumor-mongering among teenagers. The issue also includes the article "Are Parents Human?" by Susan Dalsimer, which discusses parent-teenager relationships and the importance of understanding and communication, and concludes with a "Going Steady by Mail" pen pal section featuring photographs and descriptions of readers seeking correspondence.
