Glory #31

Glory #31 kicks off "War Torn: Part One: The Fall" with a cover by Nate Bellegarde that lands somewhere between unsettling and mesmerizing — a massive, pale, purple-marked figure in a dark robe cradles a small infant while a grotesque, blood-drenched creature erupts from where the figure's face should be, jaws stretched wide. The stark white background throws every gory detail into sharp relief, giving the image a cold, almost clinical menace. Joe Keatinge and Ross Campbell's 2013 Image series continues to push well past comfort zones, and this cover makes a compelling case for diving in.
