Glory #27

Kris Anka's cover for this 2012 Image series plants a lone, wide-eyed figure at the center of a claustrophobic tunnel, hemmed in on all sides by a mass of snarling, reptilian creatures whose teeth and claws crowd every edge of the frame. The tension in that small, illuminated face — staring ahead with something between resolve and dread — does a lot of heavy lifting as a visual hook. Written by Joe Keatinge with art by Ross Campbell, Glory #27 continues the "Savage" chapter of the Destroyer arc and promises the kind of visceral, creature-filled danger the cover so effectively sells.
