“You Belong to Me”

A breezy nautical setting frames this 1950 romance gem, with a laughing young woman in a striped top nestled close to a grinning young man gripping an oar amid coiled rope and fishing nets — all sun-soaked charm and carefree summer energy. The cover teaser, "I Cast My Love Upon the Waters…and It Returned a Broken Heart," hints at the emotional tides waiting inside these 52 romantic pages. Bruno Bernard's photo-realistic cover work gives the whole thing a warm, life-like glow that was perfectly in step with mid-century romance comics at their most appealing.
