The fifth volume of Gil St André arrives with a cover that immediately sets the tone: a determined woman aims a large pistol directly at the viewer from amid what looks like a laboratory or storage facility, while the series' sharp-dressed protagonist strides forward above the title, gun drawn and alert. Jean-Charles Kraehn's thriller series has always balanced personal intrigue with taut suspense, and "Dubbelspoor" — "Double Track" — promises another story where nothing and no one can be taken at face value. Sylvain Vallée's clean, expressive linework gives both figures a vivid sense of tension, making this 2012 Dutch-language edition a genuinely compelling chapter in the series.
