The fourth volume of this Belgian thriller series finds Gil St André looking tense and determined — his close-cropped face dominates the lower half of the cover, eyes fixed ahead with quiet intensity, while a crashed small aircraft and a car caught in its headlights loom behind him. Above the title, a sharply dressed figure in an orange jacket strides forward, pistol in hand, projecting the kind of cool confidence the series does so well. Sylvain Vallée's clean, expressive linework gives the 2012 Daedalus edition an elegant, cinematic feel that makes "De Jager" — The Hunter — feel like exactly the right title for what's on display.
