In Giggle Comics #71, a 10-cent comic from 1950, former circus elephant Bungle—now living in the jungle under the rule of the Tarzan-like Bozzin—tries to protect his new home by teaching the animals showbiz tricks, believing talent might keep them safe from hunters. When hunter Frank Buck arrives and captures Bungle, the elephant makes a wild escape after being shot from a cannon, all drawn with energetic flair by Dan Gordon, whose bold pencils and inks bring the whole chaotic adventure to life on the cover and inside.
