Giggle Comics #23 is an anthology issue featuring multiple humorous animal stories. One story involves a pig exterminator dealing with the worst case of termites, who must confront a wolf in the bedroom. Another features a group of small woodland creatures on an adventure where they search for moss on the north side of a tree to determine direction, eventually encountering a masked creature described as tall with horns and a black mask, leading to confusion about the creature's true identity. A third story shows squirrels returning from a picnic who encounter thieves and police at a woodland village called Calaboose.

Ringo

Ringo winds up caught in the middle of a woodland picnic gone wrong—when masked bandits steal the Woodland Hills Annual Picnic's lunches, eyewitness accounts are so wildly contradictory that the constable ends up arresting the wrong fellow. With a bumbling jury and a determined constable on the case, Ringo has to prove his innocence before justice—or mob rule—catches up with him.
