GI Joe #3

Issue three of Dark Horse's four-part G.I. Joe miniseries brings the action to a fever pitch, with the tagline "Extreme Times Call for Extreme Heroes!" setting exactly the right tone. Walter Simonson's cover art delivers a kinetic aerial tangle — a red-haired female soldier armed and fully kitted out in tactical gear dominates the top of the composition, while a green-uniformed enemy combatant laden with ammunition belts tumbles helplessly below her. It's a confident, energetic piece that makes a strong case for picking up "The Gang's All Here" from writer Mike W. Barr and artist Tatsuya Ishida.
