DC's long-running anthology of "True Tales of the Weird and Supernatural" delivers a genuinely unsettling beach scene on this 1975 issue — a surfer rides a massive cresting wave while a horrified blonde woman on shore reacts in terror, both apparently unaware (or all too aware) that the churning foam has taken the shape of a leering skull. Luis Dominguez's cover art blends sun-drenched coastal atmosphere with creeping dread in a way that makes the supernatural feel uncomfortably close to an ordinary summer day. Inside, E. R. Cruz brings the anthology's trio of stories to life, including "Specter in the Surf," "Death-Demon of Prague," and "The Midnight Ghost.
