Few comic covers from 1997 announce their guest cast with quite this much gleeful audacity: Ghost Rider's flaming skull blazes front and center while the massive crimson jaws of Devil Dinosaur fill the foreground, with Moonboy perched atop the beast and a cigar-chomping Howard the Duck cracking wise in the corner about crashing every Marvel book that year. Pop Mhan's cover pencils and inks pack an unlikely but irresistible crossover energy into a single image, teasing Ivan Velez Jr.'s story "The Duck and the Amok" with a mashup of supernatural menace and pure Marvel absurdism. If you've ever wanted to see the Spirit of Vengeance share real estate with a prehistoric dinosaur and a sardonic waterfowl, this issue makes the case with a straight face — and a grin.
