Ghost Rider #20
The flaming skull of Ghost Rider looms front and center on this December 1991 Marvel cover, his hellfire-wreathed visage bearing down on a desperate, muscular man who pleads — via speech bubble — "Don't kill Zodiak, kill me!" A darkly cloaked figure lurks at the right edge, chains visible in the foreground, giving the whole composition a tense, three-way charge. Ron Wagner's cover art captures the Spirit of Vengeance at his most imposing, and with a story titled "Sign of Death," issue #20 promises a grim and gripping chapter in this early-'90s series.
