George R. R. Martin's A Game of Thrones #3

Dynamite Entertainment's 2011 adaptation of George R. R. Martin's beloved novel continues with issue #3, and Mike S. Miller's cover art sets a powerfully charged tone — a silver-haired young woman, tears on her cheeks and white garment pulled apart, stands in the looming shadow of a massive, bare-chested warrior behind her, the whole scene bathed in deep violet against a star-filled night sky. Inside, Daniel Abraham's scripting and Tommy Patterson's art carry the saga of Westeros forward, with Ivan Nunes's colors and Marshall Dillon's lettering rounding out the creative team. Fans of Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" — and curious viewers drawn in by the then-new HBO series noted on the cover — had every reason to pick this one up.
