DC's 1997 crossover event kicks off with this striking first issue, its cover by Alan Davis and Mark Farmer depicting a yellow-green, caped figure looming ominously over a tumbling cluster of heroes — including what appear to be a Green Lantern and other DC stalwarts — plummeting helplessly above a cityscape. The bold tagline "The Source of All Power — DOOMED!" sets a suitably cosmic tone for John Byrne's story "Resonance," with interior art by Ron Wagner and Joe Rubenstein bringing the threat to life. It's a compelling opener that promises DC's universe is about to be shaken to its foundations.
