There's something refreshingly grounded about this March 2008 WildStorm issue — the cover by penciler Carlo Barberi and inker Drew Geraci plants a sharp-eyed, red-haired young woman firmly in the middle of a bustling city street, grocery bag and baguette in hand, her green-gloved fists and wary expression suggesting she's anything but an ordinary errand-runner. New York's familiar chaos hums around her — a street vendor, pedestrians, a yellow cab, orange construction cones — all of it indifferent to whatever tension she's clearly carrying. Simon Oliver, Sunny Lee, and Jon Mills bring their run to this slice-of-life street-level moment that makes Gen 13 feel both relatable and quietly on edge.
