Geiger #21
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeGeiger #21 marks the true activation of the Ghost Machine shared universe's 'Unnamed' line: it's the issue where the inter-series crossover between Geiger and Redcoat moves from setup into full gear, with the Northerner (Malcolm North) embedded in Tariq Geiger's post-apocalyptic story for the three-issue 'Dead America' arc (issues #20–#23). More significantly, the issue seeds the first introduction of Widow X, a fourth Unnamed character whose role in the eventual grand crossover of the Ghost Machine universe is confirmed by co-creator Gary Frank in pre-publication interviews. As a structural milestone in Ghost Machine's long-planned alternate American history spanning from 1776 to 25 years in the future, #21 is the issue where Johns and Frank explicitly begin threading their separate series together into a single, coherent shared mythology.

Geiger is the flagship title of Ghost Machine, a cooperative creator-owned media company co-founded by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank (among others) and announced at New York Comic Con in October 2023, publishing through Image Comics. The character of Tariq Geiger — a man transformed into a living nuclear reactor by the Unknown War — was originally introduced in a 2021 Image series, and the current ongoing (Vol. 2) launched in April 2024 under the full Ghost Machine banner. Gary Frank confirmed in a January 2026 interview with Nerd Initiative that crossing Geiger with Redcoat's Northerner character was planned from the very beginning of the publishing initiative, not a later creative pivot, with the long-term vision always being to build 'an expansive alternate American history from 1776 all the way to 25 years in the future.' Issue #21, released February 11, 2026, is lettered by Rob Leigh and colored by Brad Anderson, the same core creative team that has worked the series throughout.
