“Geestenburg”

Doug TenNapel's cover sets a striking tone: a young boy rides atop a skeletal animal creature along a rural dirt road, gazing toward a forbidding dark fortress that looms above the treeline, engulfed in a massive swirling vortex of storm clouds. The contrast between the quiet countryside and that ominous, lightning-crowned citadel gives the whole image a sense of a small figure on the edge of something much larger than himself. Published in 2011 by Silvester, Geestenburg looks like a compelling supernatural adventure with a lot of imagination behind it.
