The penultimate chapter of Marvel's four-issue limited series arrives with a cover by Dan Green that earns its full dramatic weight: the winged, horned Gargoyle is besieged on all sides by a swarm of monstrous creatures — clawed, reptilian, and relentless — with a pale full moon looming behind the chaos. It's a beautifully painted image that captures a lone supernatural figure standing his ground against overwhelming odds, atmospheric and genuinely unsettling in the best way. With J. M. DeMatteis writing and Mark Badger on interior art, "Lost Souls — The Druid's Tale" promises the same thoughtful, darkly imaginative storytelling that made this 1985 series a compelling corner of the Marvel Universe.
