About this Collection

This volume collects issues #155-166 of the original Marvel G.I. Joe series, continuing the IDW re-presentation of Larry Hama's classic run with restored colors and bonus material. It covers the final storylines of the original series, including the aftermath of the Cobra civil war and the fates of key characters like Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow.

In "Cut and Freeze Dried," Hawk’s team races against chaos to extract the American Ambassador from the crumbling nation of Sierra Gordo, while Destro covertly aids the anti-Villavaca rebels by striking at the Terror-Dromes. As Zarana, Thrasher, and Monkeywrench flee a Drome and hijack a plane with Wild Bill, Crazylegs, and Maverick, the escape takes a deadly turn when the aircraft is hit mid-takeoff. Written by Larry Hama and illustrated by Tony Salmons, with inks by Randy Emberlin, colors by Bob Sharen, and letters by Joe Rosen, this high-stakes issue delivers relentless tension and unexpected alliances. Cover by Tony Salmons.
