G.I. Joe: Special Missions #5

Four motorcycles thunder through a rocky desert canyon on Paul Gulacy's kinetic Cover A, with a hooded rider in an orange scarf commanding the foreground while three rough-edged bikers — one blonde, one long-haired, one menacing with a skull medallion — fan out behind them in a show of force. It's a tense, road-worn tableau that signals the kind of gritty, off-the-books operation the Special Missions title does so well. Chuck Dixon and Will Rosado bring their sharp action sensibilities to this 2013 IDW series, and issue #5 looks like another lean, propulsive entry.
