“The Diplomat”

In "The Diplomat," G.I. Joe faces a tense stand-off in Springfield, a town firmly under Cobra’s grip, as Snake-Eyes, Scarlet, and Zap are captured and interrogated by Dr. Venom using a brainwave scanner to extract the location of Joe headquarters. With the help of a brave young boy and a clever escape plan, the trio begins to turn the tide—only for Snake-Eyes to vanish, setting off a new chain of events. Written by Larry Hama and illustrated by Mike Vosburg, with Chic Stone’s inks and Christie Scheele’s colors, this 1987 issue delivers sharp tension and character-driven stakes, all framed by a cover by Vosburg and Stone.
