G.I. Joe: Cobra #1
G.I. Joe: Cobra #1 (2011) kicks off with the Baroness navigating a high-stakes power struggle within Cobra’s ranks, her mind racing as she considers her unlikely path to command. As she eliminates a rival and dispatches Serpentor and Major Bludd from the command center, tensions rise on multiple fronts—Breaker warns Steeler of unrest in Ecuador, Blacklight reports mission setbacks, and the Baroness begins assembling her forces, uncovering that most of the Vipers have fallen under Bludd’s control. With Serpentor revealing a mole inside G.I. Joe and Breaker reaching out to an unseen "nest sponsor," the stage is set for a volatile game of deception. Written by Mike Costa and illustrated by Antonio Fuso, with colors by Arianna Florean and letters by Chris Mowry, the cover by Zach Howard captures the issue’s cold, calculating edge.
