G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #167
In "Cold Restarts," the G.I. Joe team returns to the frozen Russian hut where they first met Kwinn the Eskimo, only to find Cobra agents already inside—part of a new Commander-led scheme that’s turned the tide. With Destro replaced by the unexpected return of the seemingly dead Darklon and the Joes captured, Blizzard takes matters into his own hands while Firefly enlists Crystal Ball for a daring infiltration of the Joe's laser tower. Written by Larry Hama and illustrated by S. L. Gallant, with inks by Gary Erskine, colors by J. Brown, and letters by Neil Uyetake, the issue's cover by Gallant and Erskine captures the icy tension of a mission gone wrong.

The Joes go back to the abandoned Russian hut where they first encountered Kwinn the Eskimo trying to steal plans for a low-frequency radio wave beamer aimed at the U.S. to entice violence, and encounter Cobra agents already there as part of the Commander's new plan, who capture them. Destro's been cut off by the Commander as his arms dealer and replaced by the surviving Darklon, previously thought dead. Blizzard goes off to rescue his captured buddies. Firefly hires Crystal Ball to help him infiltrate Joe's laser tower.
