G.I. Joe #6
Part of IDW's 2017 reinvention of "the Crown Jewel of the Hasbro Universe," this sixth issue drops a squad of G.I. Joe operatives into a harrowing pit scenario — two figures free-falling from above while a red-haired Joe blazes blue energy blasts against a mob of hulking armored enemies surging up from below, skeletal hands clawing out of the depths beneath them all. It's a visceral, kinetic cover composition by Aaron Conley that captures the series' scrappy, ensemble-driven energy perfectly. With Aubrey Sitterson scripting and Giannis Milonogiannis on art, this run has carved out its own bold corner of the G.I. Joe mythology.
