G.I. Joe #5
In G.I. Joe #5 (2009), Duke finishes off a robotic threat with nothing but a rock—simple, brutal, and telling. As Destro grumbles over the loss, he’s still confident they can track down their target using recovered data, and he heads to meet the Baroness with a mix of defiance and purpose. Meanwhile, Flint’s mission to Scotland hits a dead end when Destro’s castle vanishes without a trace, while in Manila, Stalker, Leatherneck, and Recondo clash again with Snake Eyes over a MARS Industries lead. Back at base, Scarlett and Duke’s tension boils over into another heated confrontation. Written by Chuck Dixon and illustrated by Robert Atkins, with inks by Clayton Brown, Rick Ketcham, and John Wycough, colors by Andrew Crossley, and letters by Robbie Robbins, the issue’s cover by Dave Johnson captures the moment’s intensity.
