Meanwhile, the real Ripcord, unaware and drugged, is brought to Springfield Airport under the care of the Dreadnoks, who trust him completely. Written by Larry Hama and illustrated by Rod Whigham, with inks by Andy Mushynsky and colors by George Roussos, the issue’s cover by Mike Zeck captures the tension in a striking, dynamic scene.

Meanwhile, Zartan—disguised as Ripcord—falls into a drug-induced haze and is brought back to the Pit, where Doc notices a strange flicker in the holographic disguise as it briefly glitches under the medication. Unaware of the deception, Ripcord (in Zartan’s form) lands at Springfield Airport, where he’s welcomed by the Dreadnoks without suspicion.
